One woman’s story

Some time ago Rachel lost sight of her rainbow. She suffers with epilepsy, had lost her apartment and had nowhere else to turn.  As a last resort, she entered our shelter with her two small children and her caretaker.

During her stay, counseling sessions revealed  Rachel’s wonderful gift of writing poetry. After her 60-day stay with us, she was able to turn her life around and move into her own apartment. Her first book of poetry was released November 27, 2001.

Rachel will change your view of homelessness with her poem “The Homeless.” You can experience her gratitude first hand by reading “Earth Angels.”
