We opened our doors
in Xenia in 1995....

In 1996, the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greene County provided 1500 bed-nights of shelter and served approximately 4,000 meals.

During 2000, we served 13 families.  There were 33 people in the network, 8 of those were children under the age of 5, 18 children under the age of 18.

We provided 1975 bed-nights of shelter, and served 5925 meals.

Of the 13 families who benefited from our network, we provided training to 9 and helped find employment for 9, and 12 are now in permanent housing.

In 2003 we served 20 families.  There were 48 people in the network, 15 of those were children under age 5, and a total of 24 children under age 18.

We provided over 2500 bed-nights of shelter, and served over 7500 meals.  IHN also fielded over 2,700 other requests for services during the year.

In 2004 we served 23 families consisting of 67 individuals of which 30 were children under 18 years old, and 19 of which were under 5 years old. The average stay was 38 days; 18 in permanent housing. During this year we served 7,296 meals.

In 2005 the IHN of Greene County received approximately 4,366 requests for assistance of some nature including food, housing, rent assistance, utility assistance, etc. Of these 4,366 requests, 80 resulted in applications into the IHN Program. Due to the limited facilities and network of churches, and extended stay of some of the clients (as high as 151 days) the IHN was only able to assist 21 families consisting of 67 people, 39 of which were children. In the past year the IHN volunteers in the participating churches have donated over 2,000 hours providing these families with 2,699 bed-nights and served 8,097 meals. Statistics show that through the assistance of the IHN, 57% of these clients have secured permanent housing.
